Orh Nee Sliced Cake
Growing up in a Teochew family, I always loved Orh Nee, it is something that is deeply rooted in our tradition and the course I look forward to the most in the Chinese wedding dinners I've attended. I particularly love the unexpected texture of how smooth Orh Nee tastes compared to the actual grittiness of yam. What about you?
Our homemade Orh Nee filling is sandwiched between two layers of pandan chiffon cake, covered with a coconut buttercream that's decorated with a gradient of natural purple food dye then finally topped with coconut shreds and rose petals. A stunning cake no less!
