What are your best sellers?
Ondeh-Ondeh, our first and most popular flavour & Orh Nee. Sesame Yuzu has been a hit and is fast becoming a new contender for the top spot! My personal recommendation: Pulut Hitam, inspired by J’s mother! Our Yakun-inspired cake: Kopi kaya peanut butter is also a crowd favourite! Inspired by our favourite set to order in Yakun! - Once D & J had this same set for breakfast for 3 months straight!
What is the weight of your whole cakes?
All cakes weigh differently for the exact same size! So instead of weighing, we measure our cake sizes based on serving size. We have 2 available sizes: The 5.5" whole cake serves up 6-8 generous slices, while the 8" whole cake serves up to 15 slices. Our customers always tell us when they order our cakes they have no leftovers . Other than the fact that its easy to eat and less sweet, our size guide is designed for small after dinner estimate serving sizes :)
Do you have kid-friendly options?
We use nothing but all-natural ingredients in all our cakes as we would bake for our loved ones- so u wouldn’t find any additives, artificial seasonings/ flavourings. Our bakes are also intentionally made siew dai (less sweet), nicely balanced so that the kiddies aren’t getting a full-blown sugar high. Our latest addition, the Mango Strawberry cake is specially made with the little ones in mind- with a yogurt buttercream frosting, and fruity goodness all over; soft, fluffy chiffon sponge in mango flavour, filled with homemade mango & strawberry filling, and topped with a rim of freeze-dried strawberries. How could any kid resist this?! We know we can't:) For that same reason, we dont do sugar works or decorations on our cakes to keep them as wholesome as possible. We'd encourage you to add on cake toppers like paper cutouts, figurines & design candles that provide the 'WOW' effect without compromising on taste nor give a sugar overload! Are your bakes halal certified?
Our cakes aren't halal certified. Having said that, we are a vegetarian & vegan bakery, so all our bakes do not contain pork, lard nor alcohol and are baked in our dedicated kitchen space. Our ingredients used are all from halal-certified suppliers.
How long can I keep the cakes for?
Cakes are good for 3 days in airtight containers, fridged. They are best consumed at ROOM TEMPERATURE. So please take them out of the fridge 1hour before consuming! :) Let it soften as butter would after a while, and it would be divine! If you plan to keep them any longer - I don't know where you get your resistance skills from - you can freeze them in airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Defrost it overnight in the fridge and again bring them out early from the fridge and consume them at room temperature.
Do you do custom designs or wedding cakes?
No, we do not anymore! While we used to previously, we've since moved away from customised designs so as to focus on what we believe we do best- being your everyday bakers, celebrating/ sending cheer to you through our bakes and more! We're working to expand on our selection of bakes as well as bringing you meaningful initiatives that resonate with us.
How do I place an order?
You can do so right here on www.olsenbakehouse.com. Orders via this website are preferred, we do not take manual orders to ensure all details are accurately captured. You can order between 2 to 30 days in advance. At checkout, select the date and your mode of collection/ delivery. Any day within the next 30 days would show up on the calendar except Mondays (as we're closed!). For orders less than 2 days lead time, please call/ whatsapp us at 8891 5819! Pre-orders are strongly encouraged so that you'll be able to secure the flavour/ cake you love!
Can I walk-in without placing an order online?
Yes you can between 11am - 4pm daily, except Mondays (we're closed!). However it would be based on the day's availability. Please call/ whatsapp us at 8891 5819 to enquire about whole cakes/ slices availability for the day. We recommend that you contact us prior to arriving to avoid disappointment!
If the cakes I want are out of stock, how do I get them?
We restock daily except Mondays. If a cake you'd like to order is out of stock, the best time to try again is after 12am from Tuesdays to Sundays.
Is there a minimum value for orders?
We require a $15 value for all online orders, alternatively you may do a walk-in for orders less than the minimum value. This amount excludes delivery fees.
What time can I pick up my order?
Please come by anytime between 11am to 4pm, on your order collection date. You will receive an email reminder the day before with collection details for your easy reference. Please provide your name/ order number so that we can quickly identify your order upon arrival.
Where do I collect my cake?
Collection is at Olsen Bakehouse, 462A Crawford Lane #01-73 Singapore 191462 We only have 1 shop.
What are the delivery charges like?
1) Flexi-time delivery to homes/ offices/ hospitals/ hotels 11am - 7pm: $8 This option applies to most addresses in Singapore, except Sentosa areas. We will send your order anytime between 11am to 7pm, and by selecting this option, you are agreeing to be available to receive your order anytime within the time range. The recipient will receive an sms notification in the morning of the delivery day, providing a 2-3hr window to expect the delivery. Changes to delivery address can be accommodated as long as you let us know 2 days before your delivery date. For hospital & hotel deliveries, due to security measures please ensure to have the recipient available to meet our driver at the drop off point to collect your order. 2) Flexi-time delivery to shopping malls 11am - 7pm: $10 Due to charges incurred/ restrictions of our trucks entering carparks as well as time needed for our driver to locate the retail unit, a $2 surcharge applies to deliveries to shopping malls. 3) Flexi-time delivery to Sentosa 9am - 7pm: $14 For deliveries to outskirt locations like Sentosa, we have an additional $6 surcharge for the same arrangement as the flexi-time delivery. As such the total payable delivery fee is $14. 4) Fixed hour delivery: $25 Should you need your order to arrive at a specific time, select this option! You can let us know your preferred hour anytime between 9am -6pm to receive your order and we will guarantee delivery at this time.
I opted for flexi-time delivery, how will I know what time my order will arrive?
The recipient will receive an sms notification in the morning of the delivery day, providing a 2-3hr window to expect the delivery. Please ensure the right mobile contacts is provided for easy coordination! (Local mobile numbers only!)
I opted for flexi-time delivery, can I request for a specific delivery timing?
For our flexi-time deliveries, our delivery fees are kept affordable through us being able optimising the delivery route based on each day's orders, as such we will not be able to accommodate any time requests. Regardless, our goal is always to complete all deliveries efficiently, smoothly and as early in the day as reasonably possible. We're committed to ensuring that our drivers are safe on the roads, while keeping our commitment to you- great service standards always! Should you need the cakes to arrive before or after a certain time, possible alternatives are to opt for our fixed hour delivery option, or arrange a third-party courier to pick up your order from our shop. Always select the car option to ensure safe delivery!
I would like to make changes to my order, what's the cut-off date?
We'll accommodate adjustments to your order up till 2 working days before your order delivery date. Any changes less than 2 working days would be on a case by case basis. Changes include mode of delivery, flavours, cake size, delivery address or messaging.
There is an error when i tried to place my order online. What can I do?
We are so sorry for the experience! We’ve tried our best to make the ordering process as seamless and smooth for you guys as we can! If you are unable to do so for any reason, we would love to help you with it! :) Drop us an email, or DM us on IG with your full name & cake order! (Best if you took a screenshot of it) so we can help you with this and rectify the error to ensure we serve everyone to our best ability! Thank you for telling us and helping us improve! Please refrain from sending multiple requests across different channels - we reply the oldest messages first! You should get a reply within 24 hours on a working day. :)
My celebration has been cancelled due to recent Covid measures, can I cancel my order?
In view of the recent measures, we can offer u the following options; 1) postpone ur order to a later date. 2) cancel ur order and receive store credits to spend at a later date, expiry in a year. Store credits will be issued within 3 business days after order cancellation.
